Avatars of Destruction possess a volatile disposition. They thrive on chaos and decay, and their horns and plated scales are as hard as forged metal. Because of their affinity with darkness and the destructive forces of nature, it was once thought that these dragons were omens of ill fortune.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
Ikanaide is easily moved to anger, especially when confronted with tragedy, as his parents have raised him to understand the agony of seeing loved ones hurt. As such, he has endeavored to use his destructive powers to protect, even challenging entire packs of predators when they threaten nesting grounds. This ended badly for him one day when an unexpected avalanche trapped a group of hatchlings in the high mountains. Ikanaide tore apart the landscape to free them, but the glare of sunlight on the snow nearly blinded him. He hid himself away deep in the volcanoes, hoping to wait out the pain and prevent family members from being caught in his tormented rages. He became more and more withdrawn and bitter until a White Dragon, Niai, found him. Now his mate, Niai visits Ikanaide daily, bringing him food and healing his eyes gradually until he can tolerate sunlight again. Each evening he tells her she can leave him on his own, but each morning he steadfastly awaits her return.
