Avatars of Destruction possess a volatile disposition. They thrive on chaos and decay, and their horns and plated scales are as hard as forged metal. Because of their affinity with darkness and the destructive forces of nature, it was once thought that these dragons were omens of ill fortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Azukeru keeps watch over the sanctuary areas the Sylvain clan has set up throughout the biomes. Each morning, before the sun begins to rise, she flies to a different biome's sanctuary cave and keeps watch over it until the next night. Her threatening appearance and demeanor keeps both predators and potential invading dragons away, but Azukeru does not spend all her time emanating an aura of scariness. In truth, she volunteered to guard the sanctuaries because her parents met in a similar place of shelter, having fallen in love as her mother nursed her father through his injuries. Though she is by no means well-versed in the healing arts, Azukeru would like to have such a happy ending herself, hoping someday she will find someone she can use her destructive strength to protect.
