Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Whittaric is a Green Striped dragon. He resembles his Frill father Antharic in color and Striped mother Whittany in form. Like his parents, he is a kind, good natured dragon, always ready to help others out. His glittering green scales can be spotted miles away, attracting all forms of insect life. He brings most of what he catches to his mother, even though she can catch food for herself. The two end up pooling all the food they catch and sharing it between themselves. Some of the livelier insects are saved for hatchlings to play with. Whittaric, tough not much of a fighter, earned the respect of the tough family head, Duskglider the Black, when he sprang to the rescue of a hatchling being attacked by a large wild dragon. He held the dragon off until the hatchling had run out of sight. His family then arrived just in time to save him from being mangled. The wild dragon was permanently driven off and Whittaric was celebrated as a hero.
