Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Goldarric is the Green Striped son of SapphireGoldStream and Whittaric. As a hatchling, his sole aim was to fly. Much to his chagrin, his wings took their time to appear, and his unsuccessful attempts at flying without wings usually resulted in disaster unless a kind hearted dragon was nearby to catch him. When his wings did grow, he was overjoyed. He would go for short flights around the caves, occasionally dazzling anyone who was unwise enough to look up at him while the sun was shining over him. As an adult, he still enjoys flying, though he now prefers the cool evening. By controlling his flame, he can form a candle sized fireball in his mouth which attracts insects that make up his meal, a novel form of hunting that he invented himself.
