Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

His name means "Second Son" in Japanese, since he is the second male black dragon to be hatched in the colony. He was raised by Kentaro and Kiyomi at the same time as his brother Akihiko, whom he considers his twin, even though they're not related by blood. Shuzo is basically his little brother, even though he wasn't raised by the same parents. Jiro is basically Akihiko's right hand dragon, he's always there to back his brother up. He loves being part of the colony's Night Guard, mostly because it's a healthy way to get some of his natural aggression out. He used to be quite the wild dragon, and never took anything seriously. That's way Kazumi left him. It took awhile, but he grew up, and managed to prove to her that he'd changed. She gave him another shot, and it was the bet choice she ever made. They've been mates for quite a long time now, and are as madly in love as ever. They were meant to be together, forever.
