Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

His name means "Justice Prospers" in Japanese. He is the biological son of Juro and Sayo, but he considers Aikido to be his father as well. Sayo and Juro separated before Sayo even knew she was carrying an egg. She raised Masahiro by her self for awhile, with Juro helping a little. Then she met Aikido, and he became another father to Masahiro. It never bothered Masahiro that he had two moms and two dads. He figured there were just that many more family members to love him, and for him to love back. He is a very good fighter, and one of the colony's protectors. He is also very good at using magic, and loves to use it while out hunting. He has a bit of a feisty attitude, but he has a good heart. When he met Amayah, he knew that she was perfect for him, and decided to start courting her. They fell deeply in love, and a few months later they became mates. They love each other so much, and can't wait to see where their story takes them.
