Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It occasionally shoots small puffs of smoke from its nose, like it’s trying to breathe fire.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Embarrassed chose to never grow up. His parents abandoned him, and he feels his clan mother, Crazy, looks down upon him for that. He never wants to grow up, because he does not want his children to be ashamed to have a father like him, but Crazy purposely keeps him depressed so he will not change his mind. She doesn't want other bloodlines in her clan, and she finds him quite useful, since she is able to pick on him easily whenever she likes. Embarrassed keeps as close to Crazy as he can while not being eaten by the vines she produces as a dark green dragon. Weird tried for weeks to shoo him away from her, but when Crazy snapped at her for it Weird became resigned to his presence. Now, Weird will occasionally bring Embarrassed a treat and tell him stories to try to cheer him up. Fraidy-cat and Embarrassed have become close friends, since they have similar feelings about their futures.
