Nebula Dragons are nocturnal creatures. With the best eyesight to be found, they are often seen staring into space. Each dragon tends to observe a particular nebula and will eventually change their colors and patterns to match it. As the nebula changes over time, the dragon changes with it. The more intricate the design of the nebula, the better chance an individual has of attracting a mate. It is said that the markings on no two Nebula Dragons will be exactly the same.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Ken is the most introverted of his siblings. His eldest sister, Carina, is also rather shy and isolated, but Ken actively avoids the family to be on his own. He can only really be spotted at night, gazing up at the stars to try and add more patterns to his already impressive wings. Part of the reason he stays so isolated from his family is that his father, Arva, wanted him to able to show off that beauty, as he has done for all his children. Ken, being the antisocial he is, rejected that mentality and Arva. Even now, their relationship is contentious. Ken has this bored superiority act he puts on. He always seems so fed up with the world and others and tends to spout wicked remarks once he's engaged in a conversation. His deadpan voice, rampant sarcasm, and actively hostile commentary make it easy for everyone to avoid him, which is absolutely the point. Ken is at his most content when he's all on his own.
