Guardian Dragons have large shields on the end of their tails. Although the shields appear to be heavy, they are light, yet nearly unbreakable. Guardian Dragons use their tail-shields, as well as their wings, to deflect attacks and protect others. Often, they will guard the eggs and hatchlings of a nest while others are away. They are generally peaceful, and will not retaliate unless necessary. They have no need to forage or hunt, as they are fed by those they protect.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Shirube is a silent dragon, but he will rush to anyones help. He is usually left in charge of the Hatchlings, to make sure nothing happens to them while Levitha tends to her other duties. Once, Shirube lost track of Levithas daughter Aelithe and went into a state of panic, not knowing what to do- Go find Aelithe and leave the other Hatchlings unprotected, or forget about Aelithe in order to keep on guarding the remaining Hatchlings. His dilemma was soon resolved as a female White dragon approached him, with Aelithe in tow. This Dragon, by the name of Sister Rena, had sooner caught his attention, but he had always lacked the courage to speak to her. Gradually, they became mates and now, they have five children. Three of them suffer from Frozen Blood Disorder, though, so he has sort of given up having children.

Lately, Shirube has been assisted by his only daughter, Aino Ellis. He lets her do as she pleases, running around his tail-shield in order to find cracks and dents in it.
