Golden Wyverns are known for their beautiful metallic scales and rumored magical abilities. Living high in the mountains, these dragons do not believe in killing for sport or pleasure. They will hunt only when hungry and defend themselves when provoked, but will avoid killing to the best of their abilities. Golden Wyverns often mingle with other dragons of similar color and take pride in their shimmering hide.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
Since Star was too young yet to join the pack during the hunts, she often stayed behind, under the caring, watchful eyes of the elderly and wise Aurican, who was too old himself to hunt and walk far from their cave. The young female was patient with her great grandfather, keeping his pace when he wanted to stretch his old legs and listening to every word he said, drinking them in with passion. It wasn't only out of respect, she loved hearing him talk of years past, of hunts in his youth, of his long journeys to meditate about the ways of nature and how he learned to lead the pack with wisdom instead of force.
It was truly wonderful, there was so much history and knowledge condensed in his head it was almost shocking to discover he had once been a young dragon. Star believed the elders were a gift of nature to be preserved, protected and respected, for their wisdom not only served the pack to survive, it also fed one's own soul.
