Golden Wyverns are known for their beautiful metallic scales and rumored magical abilities. Living high in the mountains, these dragons do not believe in killing for sport or pleasure. They will hunt only when hungry and defend themselves when provoked, but will avoid killing to the best of their abilities. Golden Wyverns often mingle with other dragons of similar color and take pride in their shimmering hide.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Following the teachings of his father and grandfather, Dream Aaz has made it his duty to learn the ways of the pack so as to be as good a leader as his ancestors were. Even when he knows the old and healthy leader would still be around for many years, and Aurean Dream, his father, would succeed him, Dream Aaz tries to show an image of maturity and seriousness that seems a bit out of place given his youth. In front of the pack, the male appears proud, severe and serious, always keeping his temper, never engaging a fight and avoiding joining the youngsters in their games.

Deep inside, however, he feels frustrated. At times it is hard to keep down his anger when his wisdom and knowledge is being questioned, because he is conscious of how little he knows and how young he is. At other times he just looks at his friend, Starwind, being naive, immature and crazy, and he envies her freedom. There is something about her irritating presence that attracts him, but he doesn't know what it is.
