Pyrovar Dragons live at high altitudes in areas with lots of volcanic activity. They are commonly associated with geysers and hot springs and enjoy soaking in the scalding water. Females bury their eggs in these areas warmed by geothermal energy and abandon them soon after. As a result, these dragons are territorial and solitary from a young age. Despite their affinity with water they have powerful flame breath and fire magic. They are entirely carnivorous and utilize a variety of hunting styles, from chasing down prey from the air to lying in wait beneath the water’s surface to ambush any unwitting creatures that wander by.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Barbequed Hare exudes a grilled meat odor, which sometimes causes other dragons to follow him, who ignore his disposition so they could get a whiff of him. Everyone receives a nickname by other dragons of the district by the time they're old enough to take care of themselves. Barbequed Hare, a precocial breed, was ready to face the world at a young age, so he was given his nickname early. The original name he picked for himself is completely forgotten, and nobody's names, birth name or nickname, are written down because nobody in the district can write. Barbequed Hare doesn't really like his name, but it's better than the neighbors, Clum Z Wiper and Litigation Wart Bugle.
