Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Pattern is usually a serene, calm Stripe. She takes a lot from her mother, Celestial, possessing that same sense of regal mystery. The only difference is Pattern is diurnal. And, is she! Pattern loves bathing in the heat of the sun. She has a whole array of specific places she will go to in order to get the most sunlight throughout the day. She typically doesn't like being bothered. Though she is not outwardly aggressive, Pattern can get quite fierce if her sun time is at all disturbed. Some of her family (particularly her cousins) will actively try to provoke her, as it can be a little entertaining to see this quiet, meek white Stripe go ballistic over a little sunshine. This isn't helped by how her meek father, Leaf, often fails to intervene and her mother, Celestial, is hardly ever outside. So, Pattern has grown to become a very independent dragon. She doesn't tend to trust easily and feels more comfortable when she is on her own.
