Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Leaf is much more calm and passive compared to his older brother, Field. They both live with their family in a sacred forest, guarded by their father, Tea, an ancient Green Dragon. Field especially seeks to carry on the duty and chase away any intruders that dare disturb the forest. Leaf, however, is much less confident and reckless and only follows his brother around for protection. Leaf is fearful of everything, even especially large bugs. This skittishness makes him a poor hunter and even poorer defender, but he still insists he can be of help to Tea and Field. What Leaf lacks in hunting and combat ability, he makes up for in medical talent. Leaf is a born potions maker, having extensive and impressive botanical knowledge he can use to create all sorts of brews. Said brews tend to come in handy for the family, able to heal wounds, illnesses, or even just provide a kick to a great meal. Though he does embrace this talent, Leaf doesn't exactly take pride in it and wants to be strong.
