Two-Finned Blunas are a very social breed of dragon, living in packs of dragons called “pods.” Blunas are very curious and playful creatures and several dragons in a pod will often “play” with one other, chasing each other around, tossing seaweed back and forth, and riding ocean swells. They are occasionally seen swimming alongside whales and dolphins.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Blake Ark is a little emotional. His parents don't love each other at all, and they often fought about whose last name he would get as a hatchling: his dad's or his mom's husband's. This left quite a few emotional scars on him. The one dragon that kept him alive was his childhood friend, Clara Oakzen. She had brought him away from his parents and played with him. She was the one who introduced him to Shade Ark, whose last name he took because he admired him so much. Blake now wants to marry Clara, but his form of flirting makes her feel overcrowded. He hasn't figured that out yet. He and she have married since then, and have a child named Zeke Ark. Their family is very tight-knit. Blake and Zeke are like best friends now that Zeke is an adult. They often go flying around their cave with Clara. He and his daughter, Zoey Ark, are close as well, though Blake often is overprotective.
