Storm Dragons are the masters of the skies. They are excellent fliers and land only to rest and eat. In addition, they have full control of the weather. They are very hot-tempered and easily angered. They will attack any human that bothers them, conjuring strong winds and dangerous lightning.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Saving Rain has a hot-temper, as characteristic of his species, but also he is extremely intelligent and retains very good control over his temper. Though he cannot stop his surge of anger, he can direct it to more useful purposes. Nothing makes him angrier then when someone teases his mate, Buoyant Beacon. He spends most of his anger protecting her from criticism and teaching those who tease her a good lesson. In other cases, the rest of his anger can be directed into manual labor or drowning rivals crops in drenching downpours. His sister is Waking Nightmare and they both harbor a hate for the other that goes deeper then sibling rivalry. Waking Nightmare was always very cruel to her bother, as is her nature, and Saving Rain was the favorite of both their parents and so a deep rift has come between them.
