Sunrise Dragons are closely related to sunset dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunrise Dragons prefer to live in large groups and enjoy basking in the early morning sun. They are usually most active in the morning, and go to sleep in the early evening.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Inoday Nuria's egg was found by the human Ember just at the break of dawn. It was glowing as brightly as the sun, and Ember had to squint as she picked it up. Ember took the egg back to her home on the tallest mountain of Elgar, and there raised the egg as she had with so many others. Inoday grew to be a bright little dragon, as bright light-wise as his egg, and just about as bright smart-wise as his egg as well! Inoday, whose name means sunrise, loved to learn. He would travel all around the mountains of Elgar, learning all that he could. He loved to talk to the older dragons raised by Ember and by Flight (Ember's friend), who had so much wisdom to give. They often commented that not many besides him would listen to their wise words. Inoday's favorite information source was the beautiful Natinori, another sunrise dragon who had been raised by Flight. In his search for wisdom, Inoday decided to travel the world to learn more, and became the third dragon raise by Ember to do so.
