Horse Dragons have equine-shaped bodies and hooves instead of claws, which allow them to be fast runners. They specialize in running takeoffs, which are quicker than taking off from a stand-still. Horse dragons are able to stalk their prey from the ground then quickly execute an aerial attack for the kill.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Amethystiez Mystal RainDancer (Clan Mystal) was the 30th dragon hatched to the clan cave. Instead of the bluish hue typical of his species, his deep purple scales are offset with a blazing red composition to his mane and tail. When seen together with his brother, Amethyzrian, it seems as if the two are a stark contrast who complement each other like night and day, both sharing the same maternal lineage. Amethystiez enjoys the freedom that his speed and agility grant him, and he spends hours roaming the countryside surrounding the clan cave, his footfalls echoing thunderously off the hard packed ground. His favorite time comes when the heavens open and spill forth the tears of the gods, rain that pounds in blankets of clean, pure renewal as if washing away the filth from the world. To date, Amethystiez has shown little interest in the interworkings of the clan cave, much to his mother's dismay. Instead, he is more than content to bask in the wonder of his natural surroundings.
