Serrati Wyverns are a fierce breed of dragon typically found in volcanic areas or in desert scrubland. With their keen vision, these fearsome predators can pick out well-camouflauged prey from the slightest movement. They are named for the double rows of serrated teeth that line their beaks, which allow these wyverns to maintain an unbreakable grip on prey while they tear into their target with deadly hooked claws. Though these dragons are combative with nearly everything, they are surprisingly well-mannered when raising their offspring in communal nests. Males, however, tend to be chased off as soon as eggs are laid.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Bass is the child of two dragons known for their very loud calls, so it came as no surprise when she turned out to be even louder. The elder dragons of the valley she resided in were terrified of what she would become, so they drove her away from the valley when she became an adolescent. Bass came to live a solitary life, only hearing her parents' calls echoing in the distance. Likewise, her roars are deep and carrying and her mating call is long and melodious. Unfortunately for her, the loudness of her voice and her vicious appearance drive away any dragons that come near. Bass is as determined as her father, however, and does not cease her long, melancholy calls in the hopes that she will someday find her soulmate.
