Moonstone Dragons are named after the orb on their tails, which resembles the gem of the same name. They are nocturnal and gather energy through the absorption of moonlight with their orbs. They seem to glow with a lunar light and are a very gentle breed, feeding off of plants and the moons’ power.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Everyone was so gentle with Moonrevive when her first ordained mate was declared to be a Dark One. Moonrevive has learned, in the years since, that this meant her mate's blood was unclean, that it endangered the order of the Weyr of the Moon, where she's lived all her life.

She would never wish for anything to hurt the Weyr or its order. She, like all the Moon's worshippers, knows that to question the Moon is to bring shame to your blood. Moonrevive's line is long, honored, and pure. She was hatched to take her place in the Moon's beautiful, delicate cycle.

Still, since her first mate was banished, his name forbidden from every tongue, she cannot help but think of him often. How in his arrogance, he was proud of her. How their hatchling, another outcast Dark One, smiled in his sleep. How she loved them every day.

Moonrevive is good, and gentle, and obedient. She has taken a new mate as she was ordered to do, raised her new young. She remembers dark words, but never murmurs them aloud.
