Moonstone Dragons are named after the orb on their tails, which resembles the gem of the same name. They are nocturnal and gather energy through the absorption of moonlight with their orbs. They seem to glow with a lunar light and are a very gentle breed, feeding off of plants and the moons’ power.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Mooncleanse's position in the Weyr of the Moon is one of great honor. She is the longest of the Moon's pure line, the result of the careful organization that guides the Weyr through the Moon's speaker, Smoothstone. His blood runs through Mooncleanse's veins and helps her hear the voice of the Moon Herself. She will one day rule alongside Smoothstone to guide the Weyr in the Moon's holy light with the magic of her bloodline, once she learns the Moon's whispering tongue.

Mooncleanse knows that her position is critical for the Weyr's survival, and so she works hard to be a worthy leader. She studies the sacred prophecies of Smoothstone, reading archives and records to memorize the life of the Weyr and what keeps it functional. She's learned how the Weyr is kept fed, how the prayer vigils are sung throughout the night, how every detail of life in the Valley of the Moon keeps her clan safe.

They are all her family and Mooncleanse is dedicated to their wellbeing with all of her heart.
