Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

His name means "Third Son" in Japanese, since he was the third consecutive male black dragon born in the colony. He was adopted by Kentaro and Kiyomi, since his own parents couldn't take care of him. He grew up alone, but when he became an adult he instantly bonded with Akihiko and Jiro, who he now considers his older brothers. He respects Akihiko, and listens to him MOST of the time, but he likes to irritate Jiro so they get into small fights every now and then. Shuzo used to be a VERY BAD womanizer, he flirted with ALL the female dragons whether or not they were taken. Once he was making crude comments to Nyoko, and her father almost bit off part of Shuzo's tail, as it was he was lucky to escape with just a couple scratches and a broken leg. However once he met Emiko he grew up, and is dedicated to making her happy. They are insanely in love, and make one of the cutest couples in the colony. Together they have several children, and are very dedicated to their family.
