Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

A serene and mysterious member of the Whitefeather Family, Rarity is truly a sight to behold. She is easily the most beautiful Black in the family. Her voice is soft, but dark, like an auntumn night. She is a scarily good huntress, too. Like an owl, Rarity has the ability to kill without a sound. It is believed she accomplished this through months upon months of intense training under her grandmother, Amaya. It is a bit hard to believe such a majestic, soft-spoken dragon came from the loud and reckless Streak and Black. When lined up with all her rowdier siblings, it's obvious she doesn't belong, and that is most apparent in how they treat her. Though none of them really antagonize her, they don't give her the time of day either, and Rarity isn't sure how to win them over. Though a marvel of physical beauty, Rarity does not have the best social skills and doesn't know how to approach others. She wants to be a hero among her siblings, but she's so alienated from them.
