Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has a pink cloud that follows it everywhere. You seem to be having more difficulty concentrating since it arrived.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Conjectrix believes in fairytales. He believes there are beggar women that turn out to be fairies, and warns people he meets on what to do about them. With his cloud packed full of supplies (bread for said beggar women, cold iron for protection, and so on), he ventures out to find his place in the world of stories. One day, the little daydream hopes to find a truly heroic knight, a dragon like him, who he can watch and aid in his quest. Perhaps he's lost in his own set of clouds, but no one can look into his lavender eyes and dare to say that knights are smelly men in armor, no more heroic than the average man.

If there's anyone who can fulfill Conjectrix's dream image of a dragon-knight, created by the stories of his parents, it's Jet Black Dorkface, a pure warrior of noble lines. Now all Conjectrix has to do is find him a quest, a damsel to serve, and, of course, get him to actually fly out in the name of chivalry. Jet thinks he's just strange, so it's going to be an uphill battle.
