Daydream Dragons are the hosts of daydreams and fantasies. They spend the majority of their time sitting on clouds, dropping daydreams down into the minds of people passing by. Humans who live near Daydream Dragons must be especially careful not to let their thoughts wander, or they could end up spending hours or even days in a trance-like waking dream state.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Cephisso loves stories. While she's bad at telling them, she loves to hear stories told all over the world and understand why people tell them. She sees it as part of the dreams people have, buried deep in their souls. The Daydream's quite erudite, rattling off long lists of literary techniques and worldwide symbols to anyone who won't run away screaming. Of course, her aura means very few people can muster the strength of will to remember that they want to run away. She hoards stories and delights at hearing a new yarn.

This makes her the perfect mate for Master Storyteller, a fellow Daydream. She catches him inside her own aura, giving his stories a strangely vivid quality. If it's too disruptive (which happens if he wants to be realistic, or tell a joke), she'll sit farther away on her cloud. She's fed their child Conjectrix with a full stock of stories and symbols. Though it's warped him a bit, it will at least make for an interesting story one day.
