Guardian Dragons have large shields on the end of their tails. Although the shields appear to be heavy, they are light, yet nearly unbreakable. Guardian Dragons use their tail-shields, as well as their wings, to deflect attacks and protect others. Often, they will guard the eggs and hatchlings of a nest while others are away. They are generally peaceful, and will not retaliate unless necessary. They have no need to forage or hunt, as they are fed by those they protect.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
Raxen is very arrogant and sure of his own power. He often likes to take charge of things and will give orders out to the other dragons, even though the only ones who take heed of him are the hatchlings. He is very ambitious and though he would never consider challenging Whyte for the role of leadership, he nevertheless hopes that one day he will take over as head of the family.
He regularly clashes with the vampire dragon Mamon and they often spar together. Only the interference of several other dragons are capable of breaking the two apart. Raxen knows that Mamon is also after leadership and fears the vampire will not wait until Whyte's reign has finished naturally.
Raxen was deeply in love with Areto and was devastated when she chose another as her mate, but his feelings for her have long since passed and he now secretly plots to take Whyte's next daughter as his own.
