Royal Blue dragons are a nocturnal breed who prefer to live high in the mountains near slow-moving water that reflects the night sky. Although quite capable of defending themselves, they are peaceful by nature and will avoid a fight whenever possible.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Princess Nova, or Nova for short, is a young Royal Blue dragon. Her father, Izar the Magnificent, is the leader of her clan, which makes her the next to take over the throne. She is one of the protectors of her clan, and will defend them from any kind of danger. She is also a good hunter, as she is agile, quick, and clever. Like her father, she is quite intelligent, and teaches hatchlings how to read, write, and hunt for food. She spends a lot of her time at the library in Drakeville with her best friend, Crystal Glimmerstone, a young Geode whom is Sapphiro's adoptive daughter. She is an expert at origami, and loves folding pieces of parchment into cranes. She will often go egg-hunting with Izar, in which they will rescue abandoned eggs and hatchlings from the Abandoned Cave. Her mate, Raoul Silva, is a Golden Wyvern.
