Nocturne Dragons are a strange breed. Whenever light strikes their bodies, they are frozen in whatever position they were in. This leaves them vulnerable and they rely on camouflage to keep themselves safe. They are often mistaken for statues when in this frozen state, but Nocturne dragons do not actually turn into stone. Rather, they merely idle until the sun goes down. At night, these dragons come to life, proving themselves to be powerful fliers, although little else is known about their true behavior.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Hold Me Close Hold Me Near, or Holdclose Draekon, is the sole offspring of Hauntune Draekon (Can You Hum Me a Haunting Tune) and Whispersong Draekon (Whisper it Into My Ear). Although her father has sired others, all of those others also being Nocturnes, she is the only of them who has remained in the cave. She would've liked to know her half-siblings, but they live far from her and the other dragons of the cave. Despite being the daughter of two singing dragons, she doesn't often sing. Her mate, Songaby Draekon (Sing Sing to Me), though, loves to sing all the time. The parents of both dragons are also musical. Although she doesn't fill the air with her voice much, she's definitely a part of the musical group of dragons in the cave, due to her parentage and mate (whose own parents lead the group!). She has a voice filled with passion. Holdclose is very affectionate, and enjoys reading when not singing with her mate.
