Equinox Dragons are a highly vocal, migratory breed, easy to find when they are traveling through an area and incredibly scarce otherwise. They are extremely skilled at following dates and times based off the movement of the sun and the moons, and follow their lengthy migration routes like clockwork. Large flocks of Equinoxes can darken the skies, and their calls, which sound like eerie flutes, can be heard from a great distance. Equinoxes are very social, and hatchlings are cared for communally by the entire group—it’s rare to see a solitary Equinox, and any stragglers who don’t have a flock will often attempt to join groups of other breeds of dragon.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

As a child, Xanthiosite was adopted by a noble family, saved from starving or being eaten. To this day, he has no clue who his biological relatives are, and he doesn't care because he'll never forgive them for abandoning him. Throughout his youth, his adoptive parents' relatives and other high-status dragons would look down on him for not being one of them, and they said nasty things about his breed, which he knew nothing about. When Xanthiosite sought companionship with other "low-borns" toward the edge of the network, they didn't treat him much better, believing he wasn't truly like them. During adolescence, he read stories of characters who were like him, members of two groups that both shunned them, but in those stories, the heroes were always resourceful and lucky, and they had happy endings. No such thing happened with Xanthiosite, and he never thought himself very smart. Now, he resents everybody, whether he knows them or not. Every new person he meets is regarded as an enemy.
