Cavern Lurker Dragons are nocturnal ambush predators. Although small, they are very aggressive and will attack anything weak enough to be overpowered. Their preferred method of hunting is to lie in wait in a cave, burrow, or other small, enclosed space; when any potential prey passes they will lunge out to grab hold of the unsuspecting victim and drag it back into the lair. Cavern Lurkers have an odd aversion to sunlight and almost never venture out during the day. More commonly sighted are the odd piles of bones they stack near the entrance to their dens. Their mating call is a low-pitched bumping noise.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Born to two clan leaders, Eris has held as much influence in one claw since birth as many strive for their entire life to achieve. While her parents both maintain their thorny appearances in public, when hidden in their home they devote hours on end to her well-being. Eris is surrounded with bodyguards day and night as her parents fear that she may be used for manipulation against them, and she is isolated by all but those who her parents approve of, in fear that she might be corrupted by outside influences. Despite her parents' roles, she knows little about the politics of the clans, as they have deliberately kept her out of it in order to avoid her being divided by their opposing sides. While she outwardly pretends to be ok with this, Eris is secretly frustrated at her parents constantly babying her, and has begun to test her influence over them. One step at a time, but one day she will unite their clans and lead them to become the most powerful clan ever. One day.
