Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It is so full of energy that you have a hard time keeping up with it.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Whipcrack the Brave acts almost nothing like his father. Despite this, the other hatchlings in the Flight tricked him into being frozen in the fear that he would end up vain and rude. He grew despondent, only eating enough to survive (and that was only because his mother encouraged him to). Eventually, however, he decided that it wasn't worth it to be sad over being frozen, and he began to make friends among the other frozen hatchlings. Although he is still wary of the older dragons, in particular the magis, he is far from shy. He often engages in races with his friends, although unlike his father he is willing to lose for the sake of a good game.
