Horse Dragons have equine-shaped bodies and hooves instead of claws, which allow them to be fast runners. They specialize in running takeoffs, which are quicker than taking off from a stand-still. Horse dragons are able to stalk their prey from the ground then quickly execute an aerial attack for the kill.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Amethyzrian Mystal QuickStep (Clan Mystal) is the fifteen clan dragon, but perhaps most interestingly, the first youngling with pure Clan Mystal parentage. Amethyzrian is swift and graceful like his mother, with all the kindness and gentility as well. However, he is as solid and massive as a mountain, and this size can only be attributed to his paternal side. Amethyzrian's arrival was a surprise to one and all, but all the clan elders suspect Ametrintellio's gifts played a part, especially considering that The Clan Mother had only recently given birth herself. Amethyzrian's parents seem to share a special, albeit silent, bond with one another, and rumors abound about their pairing. It is uncertain whether or not the pair will ever mate again, most believe it to be unlikely. Amethyzrian takes great pride in his ancestry, and enjoys astonishing the hatchlings with the fact that he is able to take flight at all.
