Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

His name means "Bright" in Japanese, since he is a very intelligent dragon. Akihiko was raised by Kentaro and Kiyomi at the same time as Jiro, and even though they are technically not related, they consider themselves twins, and they sure act like twins. When Shuzo grew up, he became like the third brother, and just added to the trouble. They are all VERY cunning, and used to like playing pranks on the other dragons. They also used to be notorious flirts, and shamelessly hit on any of the single females in the colony, and some of the taken females as well. Akihiko had brief fling with Maikaize, which resulted in their daughter Sora. He loves children though, and he is definitely the most mature of the three "brothers". He is mated to Akemi, a beautiful purple dragon, who helped shape him into the responsible dragon he is today. They are soul mates, and love each other more than anything.
