Rosebud Dragons are a fun and social breed found most often in the spring. The petal-like feathers that grow on their sides spread their sweet and floral scent. Although they have poor eyesight, they have ribbon-like extensions that extend their olfactory abilities to help create a map of the area around them. When flying, Rosebud dragons tend to hover, using their wings to fan their scent throughout the air. A widespread breed, they go to great effort to visit as many flowery fields as possible.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Truff Love's sense of smell is dulled, due to some incident when she was a youth. She doesn't really recall what happened, but it's possible she doesn't want to and her mind has excised the memory. Other dragons don't know that her research in olfactory compounds and smelling aids is partly for personal reasons. Whenever she babysits a neighbor's hatchling, she frequently has her ribbons wrapped loosely around the child as she multitasks. It's thought that she embraces the hatchlings out of affection. It's actually because she doesn't want to lose them and can't see or smell far enough to trust her senses... but also it's out of affection.
