Frostbite Dragons first appear at the beginning of winter, creeping in with the frosts. They have found their place in human lore as the spirits of snow, since they only reveal themselves during icy weather. In the depths of winter, they cover the world in blankets of snow and are believed to be responsible for the glittering frost that creeps over everything. Although they appear cold and distant, they are actually rather mischievous and enjoy spending time dancing through blizzards.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

For someone with "Chilled" in his name, Tropical has very little chill. He's regarded as one of the sharpest and most observant dragons in his community and is highly sociable with sizable and various friend groups, but he's also paranoid and prone to histrionics once a scary idea develops in his mind. One moment, he's building snow dens with other dragons or cheerily digging for resources for the silo, and the next, he's accusing someone of plotting his demise and laughing mirthlessly about how they were about to get away with it. The dramatic episode usually ends quickly. Tropical himself loathes being accused of wrongdoing, reacting with shock and rapid-fire, angry reasoning why that accusation is incorrect or even unfounded. He's right about many things, but he's almost always wrong about others doing him dirty. The mouthful of times his fears of betrayal came true, however, he's never forgotten, and he keeps stats on the individuals he's deemed "baddies".
