Silver Dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Silver females eat meat only when a male dragon brings it to them as part of courtship, though they are typically highly-independent. They possess an almost magical aura that lights up any place they are in, and are looked upon with awe by humans and animals alike.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Silversky still remembers the immortal human Feathers' visits, the late-night conversations with Silversky's parents before the human would leave with a snuggle of her nose against Silversky's. She used to wonder how a creature so tiny should be permitted to give commands to creatures as strong and beautiful as her parents.

Silversky was barely grown when she started seeking out King Yule, who led a group of beautiful-lined dragons who protested the rule of smaller, uglier creatures and thought the glorious and wise, like her parents, should be free to rule themselves without interference of the weak.

Then, war, so suddenly she didn't know how it started. Though Nightburner and Feathers were driven out, Flameflow betrayed King Yule and his followers, decreeing them unclean and banishing them. Silversky hopes her parents survived the fighting; she hasn't seen them since. Now and then, she wonders if they were proud of her for fighting for them... Or if they would have been ashamed.
