Pillow Dragons are covered in enormous amounts of fur affectionately referred to as fluff. Despite their deceivingly large size, they can still fly even with such tiny wings because their bodies are remarkably light. Pillow Dragons have a habit of sleeping for up to eighteen hours a day, waking only in short bursts. During their few waking hours, they take the time to hunt for prey. Once a pillow dragon becomes an adult, its fur grows very slowly. Pillow dragon fur is used to make very expensive and valuable cloth known as “dragon cashmere.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Fotis, as she's known, bears her sire's temper along with a keen sense of skepticism. She has no patience for the unexplained and believes that if she can't find a logical reason behind it, it isn't real.

When she began seeing glimmers in the air and hearing whispers late at night, she blocked them out. Fotis didn't buy her mom's stories about the undead. She was not seeing ghosts. There was no such thing. Puh, her mom was just a crazy, superstitious old bat.

More and more Fotis' gift pestered her. More and more she ignored it. She must be going insane. Yeah, that's it. She was going mad.

In her stubbornness, she created a figurative dam on her powers unconsciously and the apparitions ceased to appear. Thrilled to be proven right, she snubbed her mother.

But she doesn't realize is that this dam is a temporary fix. Eventually, the psychic power will burst free. With all that pent up energy, she will see further behind the veil than she should. And she may not like what she finds.
