Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Antimone Anastasios trains in silence. Each of her movements is careful and precise, to gain the maximum force in each blow. She's very focused on the theory and practice of battle, like her mother, but prefers to assume an independent role over one of leadership. Antimone tries to keep herself from being weighted down by obligations or conflicting interests. She rarely speaks, even with her closest companions, but she has a very animated and expressive face. She keeps company because she wants it, but she doesn't feel she really needs it—she's just as happy working by herself.

When she does want company, though, she's inclined to turn to her mother Ossidiana or her mate Gelum. The two of them were not close at first, but grew attached when she would accompany him for protection on some of his journeys. While she insists that their relationship is merely casual, she frets when he's away enough to reveal that she probably needs him more than she'd want to admit.
