Feisty and energetic, Whiptail Dragons pride themselves on their speed and agility. It is not unusual to see several whiptails racing each other. Though fragile, they can easily evade attacks with their superior speed, and often use their long tails as a weapon, giving rise to their name.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Elizebaht was supposed to be named "Elizabeth", but her parents made their best guess about the spelling. She's disliked her name since she was young but intends to stick with it to honor her parents, believing her siblings and half-siblings who changed theirs should be ashamed of themselves. Although viewed as a bit oblivious and childish, Elizebaht is respected in Sierra-V for creative applications of her tail as a weapon and tool. She's a figure to look up to for all long-tailed youths whose appendages get stepped on, pulled, and caught in ankle-height obstacles. Though Elizebaht enjoys recognition and presents, what she's most proud of is her position of "fastest dragon at going down stairs", certified. The authority certifying going down stairs is a one-member committee whose identity is a secret because if anyone knows it's Elizebaht, she could be unduly influenced by others. It seems like everybody has suspicions she's in the committee, but she always denies and deflects.
