Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Duphaston is very nervous and frail dragon. He shies away from combat and will not defend himself if attacked, either verbally or physically. A few of the bolder and more daring members of the clan believe he is a mere coward, but Duphaston simply does not like conflict and will go to lengths to avoid it.

He is a regular target of Mamon, who enjoys teasing the smaller dragon and knocking him around. Duphaston takes whatever punishment the vampire gives him before slinking back to his own corner in the cave to rest.

Duphaston is good friends with the cave mistress and enjoys spending time with her. Despite being several times larger then her, he still likes to rest his head in her lap while he snoozes, as he did when he was a hatchling.
