Copper Dragons are masters of stealth, slipping silently and swiftly through the forests and jungles where they live. Often hunting in groups, their prey rarely know they are being stalked until the dragon’s at their throat. In the air they are agile and skilled. Copper Dragons prize family groups, spending large amounts of time teaching their young skills. So great is their love of life and family that they will sometimes adopt orphaned dragons of other breeds to raise.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Boa had long been one of the females that threw themselves at the handsome Lord Myst, hoping to catch his eye, but today there was a new desperation in the throng. When she joined them, crushing others to win a spot nearest him, she saw it immediately.

Lord Myst had never paid them any mind, but today, saddened glint in his eyes, he carefully strode among them. That he was looking for a mate couldn't have been more clear.

Boa wasted no time in clearing a space for herself. Lashing with tooth, claw, and tail, she fought to the Lord and presented herself. She bowed low, as was custom, before turning in blatant invitation. The other dragonesses hissed.

Lord Myst paused, then slowly circled her. He'd taken so long she began to despair when his wings unfurled and he sprang from the ground. Trumpeting victory, she followed.

The pain was nothing compared to the fierce joy, and upon laying his egg and claiming the title Lady, Boa immediately began plotting how to use her newfound power.
