Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Lord Boa never had a happy childhood. His mother was a sly vixen searching for power. His father was a dragon lost in lonely despair. The two were never a fit match, and while Lord Boa had the power to grant his every wish, the rift between his parents ensured his misery. His father, Lord Myst the Second, was always kind to him, but in a distant kind of way; his mother viewed him as little more than proof of her tie to power.

When Lord Myst found love and abandoned Boa's mother, his life became infinitely worse. He lost all worth in his mother's eyes and she deserted him to live on his own. Without even the slight comfort of privilege that he'd had before and forced into a harsh environment, he barely managed to survive.

If he'd had a better childhood, a loving home, Lord Boa may have turned out as a fine dragon; now, after all his suffering, his mind has become dark and twisted. He does not actively seek revenge, but who knows what might happen if his parents cross his path.
