And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Though she has no title to inherit and no honor to uphold because of her mother's fall from power, Lady Boa the Second possesses all the cunning and ambition her namesake did. It's fortunate for the rest of the world that her intelligence developed after her greed did, for it was in failing to steal a large, round hunk of gold from a Magi dragon that led to this little Lady's frozen state.

The large, round hunk of gold in question turned out to actually be the Magi's egg, and the enraged dragon cursed "Lady" Boa the Second so she could never age.
