And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

For as long as anyone can remember, Thrinzilk Virlym has been raiding the supply carts carrying goods to and from the palace. His antics have made him the stuff of legend, but in reality his nightly raids are fueled by his seemingly eternal hunger. His parents, who are upstanding citizens, think their forever-young child should be more productive in society and stop raiding the supply lines. Thrinzilk Virlym, however, wouldn't dream of it, since the locals who live in the shadow of the castle use his nightly raids to fuel gossip around the town and love to hear tales of his deeds.
