Dorsal Dragons are so named because they have large fins along their backs that can be raised and lowered at will. They use these fins to regulate body temperature; they raise them to cool off when they become overheated. The bright colors on the fins double as a means of attracting mates.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

His strange name comes from the color of his fins, but it also refers to his love for animals. Barn shares this interest with one of his siblings (one of them at least, there are quite a few to keep track of and they all have similar names...) He enjoys observing all the wildlife around his family's home: the birds, insects, rodents, and even larger predators. Of course, his curiosity can often get the best of him when it comes to these encounters. Good thing he's a fast runner! Barn has this sort of adorable innocence to him. He always means well. The only reason he ever does something immoral is because his siblings goad him into it, which happens way more than it probably should. Barn is admittedly gullible and easy to take advantage of. His siblings and cousins alike will often use him to further their own motives, be them for good or bad. Upsettingly, Barn has a very difficult time telling the difference, so he's never sure what he gets himself into until it's too late.
