Feisty and energetic, Whiptail Dragons pride themselves on their speed and agility. It is not unusual to see several whiptails racing each other. Though fragile, they can easily evade attacks with their superior speed, and often use their long tails as a weapon, giving rise to their name.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

While many humans' customs baffle Sudheera, she feels she totally understands their December holidays. She can never get the names and dates straight, but to her, they all exist to cope with the cold and darkness as winter begins, and she loves the idea. (She also despises the cold, so there's one thing she has in common with the humans.) A somewhat shy individual, Sudheera minds her own business most of the year and avoids interacting with people outside of her kin group, but as winter solstice approaches, she becomes a different dragon. The hoard she has accrued for the last several months is divided into two sections, "my pile" and a smaller "present pile", and she's seen spending a lot more time with her father in preparation for the festivities. She is happy to be a delivery girl for humans and dragons, even complete strangers, and she has the record for most distance covered (and parcels delivered) in a day.
