Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Onyxdrow Mystal DarkNight (Clan Mystal) was born into the clan cave as its 118th dragon, born of a pure parental line. Much to the frustration of his parents, he is a rather gruff and somewhat standoffish dragon who prefers solitude and isolation. He seems to find no useful purpose for the existence of The Red Claw, and refuses to grant audience to their leader, Pyropendrus, despite her repeated attempts. He is stern and steadfast in his belief that none other than his kind have the ability to adequately protect the clan cave, causing quite a stir with the members of the unit. Although the clan elders have expressed their concern, he stands strong in his conviction and refuses to acquiesce. It is said that after a visit from The Clan Mother, however, he agreed to simply steer clear, rather than openly antagonizing them, furthering the separation from his clan mates. He spends his waking hours patrolling the night skies, silently guarding the clan cave and all its inhabitants.
