It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Ametrineya Mystal KindHeart (Clan Mystal) is the 31st dragon to join the clan cave, born of a very unlikely pairing. Her father, Pyropelious, usually prefers solitude, however, was unable to refuse the tender advances of Ametrinzet, her mother. Ametrineya has a calm, almost regal air around her, and the entire clan respects her patience and gentility with the younglings of the clan. She spends a significant amount of time in the company of her mother, tending to the egglings as well as the hatchlings of the clan. Each evening, though, she escapes to the quiet recesses of the clan cave to join her father amidst his self imposed seclusion. Ametrineya enjoys crafting small trinkets to amuse, typically some small bobble that seems to mysteriously encourage affection between specific clan members. When asked about these items, Ametrineya simply nods serenely and, were it possible, one might swear they had seen her smile.
