Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

All of Pluto's kills have one thing in common—the killing blow was always through the eye, to preserve the skin. Pluto is the trapper of the cave, providing furs for nests in the dead of winter. Although in winter he is in great need, during the summer he is redundant and must be content with wandering the surrounding forest alone. Needing to be needed, Pluto will remain out of the cave for days desperately hoping someone will notice and care enough to look for him or even ask him where he'd been. All this has been to no avail, as few acknowledge the silent vampires presence—let alone miss him, as the Libra Clan is seen as separate from the rest of the cave. It is in the winter he comes alive, trading furs throughout the clans as dragon's crowd round him, placing their orders for the fur to line their nests. Sadly when the snow melts, so do his company, and Pluto resigns himself to another lonely year.
