Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Qozwd has a wanderlust, constantly circling away from the Bleeding Hart volcanoes to search and returning empty-clawed, having failed to find what he was seeking. His clanmates once tried to stop him, but every time they did his fur slowly turned dark and his actions violent; the only thing that can pacify him seems to be his endless searching. When asked, he has proven incapable of explaining what it really is he seeks, which concerns him as much as anyone else.

There was one time after he had fled the clan in a berserk rage where he disappeared for months. When he returned, heavily wounded from whatever he found in the Voiceless Desert, he brought with him a thunder dragon. Ozesen eventually became his mate, but she still fears the volcanoes. He spends most of his time with her on the Aortic River, but still regularly sojourns home to visit his parents.
